NBAF's NextGen Artist's Shattering Stigmas Project, created in partnership with Gilead's Emory Compass Center and THRIVE SS, aims to empower high school students through a photojournalism assignment focused on HIV advocacy. By collaborating with organizations like THRIVE SS, we strive to educate students about HIV and eliminate associated stigmas. The project provides a platform for individuals living with HIV, including couples, people from the LGBTQIA community, and teens, to share their stories and experiences. Students from Drew Charter Academy participated in HIV awareness and advocacy sessions led by THRIVE SS educators, then captured portraits of individuals thriving with HIV.
