ARTIST PROJECT FUND

The NBAF Artist Project Fund (APF) is a $2000 award and artistic development program for Metro Atlanta artists seeking funds to complete an ongoing project.

APF seeks to support 20 professional artists over a 6-month period in the completion of an artistic project, foster a sense of community and creative collaboration, and provide immersive artistic and career development experiences to help each participant grow as creative entrepreneurs.

Artist Project Fund Criteria:

Be of African descent

Be at least 21 years old

Reside within the Metropolitan Atlanta area

Oxygen Icon Box

Be a professional working artist (we do not fund students)

Oxygen Icon Box

Have a project in process that needs additional funding

Created in 2020 as a COVID relief fund, the NBAF Artist Project Fund (APF) will support 10 professional artists in the completion of an ongoing artistic project with a $2000 cash award in 2026. APF fosters a sense of community and creative collaboration, and provides immersive artistic and career development experiences to help participants grow as artists and creative entrepreneurs.

Application Deadline: Monday, February 16, 2026 by 6:00 PM
Award Notification: Monday, March 16, 2026
Awards Distributed: Wednesday, April 1, 2026
Cohort Program Length: April – September 2026

Eligibility:
NBAF accepts applications from artists working in the following disciplines: Visual Art, Music, Dance, Photography, Film/Television, Literary Arts, Theater, Multi-Disciplinary Arts.

Applicants must

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Reside within the Metropolitan Atlanta area
