ARTIST PROJECT FUND

The NBAF Artist Project Fund (APF) is a $2000 grant and artistic development program for Metro Atlanta artists seeking funds to complete an ongoing project.

APF seeks to support 20 professional artists over a 6-month period in the completion of an artistic project, foster a sense of community and creative collaboration, and provide immersive artistic and career development experiences to help each participant grow as creative entrepreneurs.

Created in 2020 as a COVID relief fund, the NBAF Artist Project Fund has evolved to nurture artistic talent on a longer trajectory by supporting the growth and development of artists with financial, professional development, and artistic exploration resources to ensure their projects and careers thrive.
The 2024 Artist Project Fund (APF) is a $2,000 grant and 6-month artistic development program for Metro Atlanta artists seeking funds to complete an ongoing project. APF supports 20 professional artists in the completion of an ongoing artistic project, fosters a sense of community and creative collaboration, and provides immersive artistic and career development experiences to help them grow as artists and creative entrepreneurs.

OVERVIEW & TIMELINE:

• Application Open: Monday, January 8
• Application Deadline: Friday, February 2
• Award Notification: Monday, February 19
• Cohort Program Length: March – September 2024
• Number of APF Sessions: 6
• Grant Awards Distributed: March Awards Dinner

The APF application must be submitted via this google form no later than 11:59 pm ET on February 2, 2024.

ARTIST PROJECT FUND ELIGIBILITY:

• Be of African descent
• Be at least 21 years old
• Reside within the Metropolitan Atlanta area
• Be a professional working artist (we do not fund students)
• Have a project in process that needs additional funding

APF GRANTEE REQUIREMENTS:

• Participation: Be able to attend a minimum of 4 of the 6 in person cohort meetings
• Documentation: List NBAF as a funder on all exhibition/programming material of the finished project, include the NBAF logo anywhere supporter family of logos are present
• Promo Materials: Provide NBAF with an artist bio/headshot and marketing materials for their final project for NBAF promo outlets
• Mid-Cohort Survey: Complete an mid-cohort survey outlining project updates and program feedback
• Communication: Provide NBAF with invitations to their exhibitions/performances/screenings/etc.
• Final report: Complete an exit survey at the end of the program outlining project updates and program feedback

APF GRANTEE BENEFITS:

• $2,000 cash award
• Private awards mixer and check presentation
• 6 professional development group events: Gallery/artist studio tours, Visual/Literary/Performing arts event, Lunch & learn focusing on Artistic Professional Development topics
• Individual social post and email blast inclusion promoting APF artists and projects
• Website page dedicated to APF and the 2024 cohort
• Connecting with artists in the cohort from a variety of artistic disciplines

NBAF accepts applications from artists working in the following disciplines:
Visual Art, Music, Dance, Photography, Film/Television, Literary Arts, Theater, Multi-Disciplinary Arts
