The deadline for artists to submit an RFP is October 1, 2024
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATLANTA – Thriving Together Atlanta, a transformative public art initiative between the City of Atlanta – Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, the CDC Foundation, National Black Arts Festival, and Out of Hand Theater, is proud to announce the temporary public art mural RFP. Individual artists and artist teams are encouraged to submit their proposals for the public art mural dedicated to promoting racial equity through powerful visuals and community engagement.
In 2021, the CDC declared racism a serious public health threat that directly affects the well-being of millions of Americans and, as a result, affects the health of our entire nation. The Thriving Together mural seeks the explore what it means for Atlantans to “Thrive Together” as engaged and empathetic citizens, moving toward the philosophy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his vision of a Beloved Community.
The Thriving Together mural wall is set to be located inside the shopping plaza located at 455 North Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30308. Given the demographics and culture-graphics of the Old Fourth Ward, there is an opportunity to present art that resonates with residents who live in these diverse communities, highlighting values that transcend neighborhood boundaries, such as opportunity, inclusivity, unity, justice, and hope.
The deadline for proposals is Tuesday, October 1, 2024. For more information and to download the mural
RFP, visit thrivingtogetheratlanta.org. For RFP questions, please contact Oronike Odeleye, Artistic
Director of NBAF at oodeleye@nbaf.org.
