A Community Lecture presented by Dr. Ayanna Thompson

Dr. Ayanna Thompson, the Associated Dean of Faculty and Professor of English at Arizona State University, presents a community lecture Weyward Macbeth: Intersections of Race and Performance. This lecture will examine the history of adaptions and reconsiderations of Macbeth, and how contemporary performances of one of the most ubiquitous Shakespearean tragedies have engaged issues of race.

If you can’t be there in person, join us via USTREAM at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/nbaf-weyward-macbeth.  After you attend the lecture, see the play.  MACBETH, presented in partnership with Georgia Shakespeare, runs October 4th though October 24th at Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University.  Purchase your tickets now at www.gashakespeare.org or call 404.504.1473; groups contact liz@gashakespeare.org or call 404.504.3422
