RSVP for a Conversation with Shirley Sherrod

Please join us as we celebrate the life and legacy of Shirley Sherrod on Sunday, September 16th at Hammonds House Museum. Shirley Sherrod, and unsung hero in the fight for farmers’ rights, served as served as Georgia’s first black Director of Rural Development for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Had the controversy surrounding her 2010 speech at the Georgia NAACP banquet never happened, many would never have known who she is and how instrumental her work has been in saving many farms across the country. The Courage to Hope is an amazing and moving story of redemption and survival. For more information, please call 404-224-3464.
