Jah Music: A Celebration of Traditional Jamaican Music featuring the Tallawah Mento Band. MENTO: The traditional Jamaican beat which gave rise to Ska, Reggae, DanceHall, has much in common with Calypso, Merengue, the Beguine and the Rhumba-all being off springs of the merger of African and European rhythms- has made a tremendous impact on the international music scene. The Tallawah Mento Band will perform traditional Jamaican Mento music. Presented in recognition of Caribbean American Culture Heritage Month and in partnership with the Auburn Avenue Research Library.
