Each child will receive a FREE award-wining book of their choice when they present a Library Card. Meet award-winning author, Walter Dean Myers, at the Youth Writers Workshop and award-winning illustrator, Michele Woods, at the Youth Illustrators Workshop.

Are you a young author between the ages of 13-15? Walter Dean Myers is a multiple winner of the Coretta Scott King Award for African American Authors. He has written over 50 books for young adult readers. Please register to meet Walter Dean Myers on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Mr. Myers will conduct two Youth Writers Workshops for serious young writers.

Are you a young illustrator between the ages of 13-15? Please register to meet Michele Wood on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Challenging all margins with her work, Michele Wood is a painter, illustrator, designer and writer who has gained extensive recognition in the United States. Ms. Wood will conduct two Youth Illustrators Workshops for serious young artists. Each young artist will receive an illustrators kit upon arrival at the workshop.
